Saudi Arabia sets 10% duty on two customs tariff lines

Published 1 min read

On 21 August 2026, Saudi Arabia’s Umm Al-Qura official gazette published Finance Minister Decision 2-88-1448, setting a 10% customs duty for tariff lines 151710900000 and 732620300000.

Official document:
Minister of Finance Decision 2-88-1448; Royal Decree M/39
Development date:
2026-08-21

The two amended lines

The decision’s table assigns 10% to line 151710900000, described as “other”, and line 732620300000, described as ties for animal feed. Its commencement clause makes the amendments effective from publication in the official gazette. The operative date is therefore 21 August, rather than the date of a later adviser roundup.[1]

Legal basis and import-cost implications

The decision cites Royal Decree M/39 as authority to adjust duties to protect and encourage local industries and products within Saudi Arabia’s WTO-bound ceilings. For multinational importers, the relevant task is to match goods to the exact twelve-digit lines and apply the published rate in customs calculations from commencement. The decision publishes the revised rate but does not reproduce the previous rates, so a quantified before-and-after cost comparison requires the earlier tariff text.[1]
